Local WI news and reviews with a focus on food (Door County Restaurants, Cafe's, Bars etc) and live music around Door County WI.

We trot around the County and partake in food and beverage from some of our fine (and not so fine) local eating establishments. Then we log-in and report our findings, no-holds-barred.

Some of you might be upset at the candid nature of some of our comments, but they are first and foremost a truthful reflection of our experience at a particular dining venue. For more information - who we are and how we review.

We will review your comments and publish them promptly wherever they are deemed to provide something useful or of interest concerning Door County WI.

We'd also like to hear from people about their experiences at local concerts or theatrical events. Live music is one of the many things that Door County offers its visitors and there are some great music venues around the county. We are please to announce our new membership based service at Something Special from Door County This program reviews local companies and their products / services and awards a 'Seal of Approval' should they meet certain criteria. The criteria list is designed to ensure that their products are truly Door County made. At least 50% of the value of the product must be derived locally, either in terms of raw ingredients, materials or labor.

Also of note is our Food Review website at Door County Hot Sauce Society We take a light hearted look at local Door County restaurants, bars, eateries and report back on our dining experiences. Of particular interest is any food which is presented with a 'Hot and Spicy' theme. Each year we award the prestigious 'Refrigerated Toilet Roll Award', to the best of the best in the county. Previous winners include Husby's in Sister Bay and Peninsula Pub in Baileys Harbor.

Latest News!

Our 2011 Poll for best Door County Towns is complete and we're happy to say that first prize goes to Fish Creek WI.

Not a complete surprise to see Fish Creek voted into the #1 spot by 201 of our site visitors. As you can see from the results to the right, Sister Bay came in at #2 and Sturgeon Bay at #3.

Thanks to everyone who cast a vote, and the poll will remain open through 2012, so feel free to cast a vote for your favorite Door County Town on Village.

Lull-Abi Inn

Our favorite Door County Motel website has had a major redesign for 2012. The Lull-Abi is located downtown Egg Harbor and the proprietors pride themselves in delivering very affordable accommodation, which is spotlessly clean and comes with a range of free amenities, such as cable TV, WIFI, coffee makers and more.

The Pen Pub

The Pen Pub in Door County scored a hit with its first line of hot sauces in 2011, starting with an excellent sauce combining the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Chile) pepper with flavorful components such as pear, apple cider vinegar and applesauce. Having had plenty over the Summer months I can honestly say it's one of the finest hot sauces I've ever tasted, and I've tasted sauces from all around the world.

"It's Kickass" as owner Kyle would say, and who can disagree? (the Peninsula Pub won the prestigious 2010/2011 award for "hot and spicy", see the article above).
